ABOUT ME

therapy room_edited.jpg

I have been working in private practice since 2020, providing therapy for individuals and couples either in-person at my office in Hastings town centre, or remotely via video call.

Although I welcome clients from all 'walks of life', I specialise in issues related to gender, sexual and relationship diversity, and I hold a personal interest in working within LGBTQ+ communities. My professional experience of LGBTQ+ affirmative counselling began in my training days, when I completed my counselling placement hours at an LGBTQ+ mental health service in Brighton.

Alongside my private practice, I work with another Hastings-based organisation which offers a whole range of creative and supportive services for young people in the area. My main role within this service has been providing counselling via GP referrals and within local schools. I really love this work, as helping young people in Hastings grow in confidence and discover their place in the world is another passion of mine.

My Counselling and Further Training includes:

  • BSc (Hons) Person-Centred Counselling: 1st Class

  • FdSc Person Centred Counselling

  • Certificate in Online and Counselling Training

  • Gestalt Couples & Relationship Therapy

I have an ethical and professional responsibility to keep evolving my knowledge and skillset as a practitioner. I commit to this in many ways, ie: by attending CPD courses, keeping up to date with current research, reading therapy-based literature and attending specialist supervision. Below is a handful of examples of extra training I have completed:

  • ASIST Grassroots Suicide Intervention Training

  • Understanding and Working with Different Attachment Styles

  • Working at Relational Depth

  • Shame and Internalised Oppression

  • Kink-affirmative Pink Therapy Training

  • Working with neurodiverse clients

  • LGBTQ Affirmative Training

  • Understanding and Working with Self Injury

  • Creative Counselling

  • Sandtray Therapy

  • Samaritans Training
